His post I quoted literally says he thought it looked fine. If he can look at a tire and tell it has more than the 50% legal stamped minimum psi according to CVSA I will eat my shirt.

Can you show where it’s an OOS violation in any section of 393.55 for the abs light being on?
Looking at a tire to judge if it’s ok is lazy and irresponsible. It’s quite possible that the DOT erroneously put him OOS for the abs light, which should have been DataQ’d.

ABS light will get you down time in certain states its a brake thing brakes are safety. Tires go flat while driving as well . I have driven 8hrs straight checked my tires had a flat . All had air during Pretrip that morning. It happens

Section 393.55 covers ABS lights. It is not an OOS violation for that light to be on. If he was put OOS, it was a mistake.
(Here is a thread with a direct quote from a DOT officer and the section for ABS requirements and violations.)

    ABS out of service ?

I agree that tires can pick up nail, road hazards etc and go flat. Looking at a tire before you leave out tells you nothing. The minimum legal psi is at least 50% of stamped sidewall rating plus one psi. Either strike it with a thumper and see or put it on a gauge if it’s questionable. I have an air hose, gauge and a lock on air chuck to air up low tires I find when I hit them with a thumper.

I don’t see how what I am saying is confusing here.

I did a proper pre trip and it was fine before I started rolling. I had caught a nail while I was driving, and didnt realize it was flat.

If you're loaded you can EXACTLY see if a tire is fine or not. Just as easily as a gauge or a thumper.

Do you think the scale house stops you on the scale and gauges your air to decide to pull you in for inspection or not? It's not hard to spot a low tire when loaded. Being loaded is the easiest way to see a low tire.

Not everyone is here to insult you.... I've made small mistakes before myself. Go to Loves and use Tirepass. Get a printout and keep that with you... DOT gives you crap then you got something to go by... as far as other companies I mentioned in my previous post JB hunt and Mercer have load boards... you can try one of them... have you found anyone else?
