So I've just ran into this problem. I was at stop light and then tried to leave on green. I felt brakes drag and notice my brake application gauge stays up a bit, brake pressure doesn't release all the way when I met go of brake pedal. I removed service brake line and it released built up pressure. If I pump up brakes, brake pressure builds up again and won't fully release brakes- brake lights stay on as well

Hmmm. Check and make sure you don’t have the lines reversed.

Or that someone hasn’t put a quarter in your gladhand.

If brakes need adjusted service gauge wouldn't show pressure. Btw brakes on tractor are disc and trailer has new brakes all around

Most trucks today have the brake control valve in the floor. There is a piston between the roller on the pedal and the valve. Remove the pedal and clean all that out. Probably a lot more good advice in top right search block.
Get the piston out. Clean it and the cylinder it fits in.

    SAR and AModelCat Thank this.

Now I'm thinking what if service line/blue somehow swelled up inside and holding air when I apply brakes?

I had the same problem. Both hand valve and foot valve. I never found out what the problem was.

    Out of curiosity, Peterbilt?
