I bet that thing is bouncing and walking all over the deck the way he's got it chained like that.
Them reitnoure stake pockets you can darn near bust the sides out with a bungie cord.

Question. Does the width of the trailer matter at all, 96” vs 102”?

Nope, my Etnyre was 96” wide and you could legally load 102”.

I thought you could be outside the trailer no more than the mirrors' width.

Seems to me like he’s gonna learn about gravity someday...

...And hopefully he won’t kill a helpless family...?

I agree with JD as far as the law is concerned but man if that ain’t crappy ratchet placement I don’t know what is?

I cant see how he has the binders hooked on the left side. It looks as if he only has the point of the hook connected to the rubrail.

    cke and PoleCrusher Thank this.

I cant tell you with absolute certainty that securement is allowed outside the rub rail but, I can tell you that I got a ticket from a DOT /State trooper (I think in Arkansas but cant remember specifically) for having straps on the outside of the rub rail.
He said that if someone side swiped me, the straps/chains are likely to be damaged, break or come loose & loose the load.

However, I agree that the scenario pictured in the OP is not considered over size.

    cke Thanks this.
