Yeah, that + wind = sucks for sure. Be a good night to be all wrapped up in the sleeper under a pile of blankets in a nice warm truck.

No the numbers refer to the square inches of the brake chambers. A30/30 is two separate chambers each 30 square inches, a 30/36 is one chamber 30 square inches and one 36 square inches. In the case of a 30/36 the parking brake side is 36 square inches. Some smaller trucks and steer axles will have 24 square inch chambers. A long stroke chamber (identifiable by square ports vs round on a regular) has a longer stroke.

    Come to think of it...

I’m 200 hours away from service and I swear this thing is making funny noises all a sudden...

    Just can’t win this week...

Least my bunk heater gets warm enough to cook a ribeye on a plate...

Thanks - so, shoot a digital temp gun at the probe when at , say , a hot idle - 600, and verify?

    42,500 empty, I49 in AR , good pulls - ranges are 750f- 850f, 1575 RPM, boosts up to 36-38 ft/lbs.

Sounds OK to you or not?

12.7 1995 S60 - new BW turbo, full tilt exhaust manifold.

Thank you - was about to ask exactly what a 30/30 (mine) vs a 30/36 meant.

    30/36 - better park pressure?

Depending on where the nozzle is for that bunk heater it'll burn the hair off your legs if you put them in front of it. Same with a gallon jug of water, it's usually on it's side when the top blows off waking you up, then you step off the bed into a 1/2 gallon of hot water all over the floor.

Yes stronger parking brake. Matter of fact my new trailer has disk brakes and they use a type 24 chamber on a 55 ton trailer.
