I would guess there is spec sheets available from the manufacturers if you wished to delve that deep.

You know what’s better? Managing forests so they don’t burn, or at least not to the severity they have been in recent years. You’re probably a tree hugger though, and don’t approve of logging.

Can you share what oil are using that it costs you 150?, everywhere online I checked and mineral 15w40 Rotella, Delvac or Delo for like 10 gallons 2.5 jugs costs 30 to 35$ X4 equals 130$ roughly just for the oil itself plus CAT filters around 70$... I don't see how you spend 150$..

Totally agree with you.. if you buy online mineral oil 15w40 for 10 gallons plus CAT filters roughly 75$ will be at least 200$ for parts only.. then all the work you have to do and recycling used oil.

It’s a synthetic “House Blend”, exceeds any name brand.

Check with some of your local oil distributors. See what they have to offer. You’ll probably be surprised.

I always did my own oil and grease after having a knucklehead snap off the bolt in the old style canister filters I decided to just do it myself from then on.

I used to by the oil by the 55 gal drum and filters by the box, amsoil and wix respectively. Shop I was buying from old man retired and son ran it into the ground and closed it. Local distributor doesn't have the best prices but I can still get rotella a bit cheaper than any where else in town. Use Napa brand filters now as they're cheaper than the ones the stealership wants for them, plus made by same folks who make wix.

Never broke down my costs vs having an independent shop do it, but with the products I prefer to use I want to say it even price wise.

And last oil change I put the fumoto valve on the earlier poster mentioned. I got the hose attachment so I can just run the hose straight to a 5 gallon bucket. Cost comes out to about $100-$150 cheaper, but that’s with a gallon of sta-lube gear oil, using fleet guard filters and rotella.

You know on the n14, The dipstick has the rubber band around it that you hand tighten. Well I got real sick of watching guys even after telling them, to BE CAREFUL putting it back in. They will mash it in there, bend up the rubber to the point where it’s almost breaking off into the oil. But anyways... it’s nice to not have to wait in line at the end of a day for who knows how long too. Even at speedco, which stopped carrying fleet guard, and went up on prices after loves bought it, so that was inspiration in itself.
