Belongs to the young man who’s home we all gathered at yesterday. Original engine with 4 speed trans and 2 speed differential. I’m thinking it has the Blue Diamond engine? I honestly didn’t look that close.

The Pete I drove for 4 years, it had about 1 million miles on it at time of pic. Good truck, great company, kinda wish that job still existed

Ok, to be honest I don't have the knowledge I have now, which is why I went single box big everything else. It was recommended because of w/b.
I didnt realize the turning radius difference was that big.
Being a log SOB, turning is important.
With your confinement issues, I understand.
That's why I asked, "Tell me what I don't know"
'preciate the insight...Last edited: Feb 3, 2019

I started driving in the cabover day’s. Had an air ride seat, and spring ride truck. That seat would bottom out on every bump. Armstrong steering. Running groceries through Louisiana. They had the worst roads in the nation. I was young and strong, but I have never been as beaten up like that cabover did. Got home at the en of the week, and my organs hurt. I love the looks of a rigid, but I wouldn’t be able to ride one the way I like to ride.
My current bike, I have ridden 3 consecutive 800 mile days (which, after this past summer, I don’t believe that I will be able to do anymore either). But I do believe that I have a couple more big rides in me...Well, looks like 4 for 2019. -
There may not be that big of a difference in turning radius, I’m told there is a difference but not to what extent. Finding two identical trucks with the only difference being the front end is difficult. The construction company I used to work for had some speced the same as mine that I drove for them except with big fronts but they were 215” wheelbase. They claim they got around good and I don’t remember them complaining. I drove them a few times but just don’t remember.
As I said getting into job sites is more of a concern than maneuvering on them. Generally I do most of my onsite maneuvering empty. When I’ve trained guys I’ve told if you’re loaded pull in if you can turn around or have help backing out and unload before you turn around. If you’re empty and going to load back in or turn around onsite before you load, it’s much easier on equipment. I’ve actually unloaded, hooked up, turned around and dropped again if I felt it was better on the equipment.
Mostly just brainstorming, I want to be right as I can be because hopefully this’ll probably be the last truck I ever drive.Feedman, 1951 ford, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 16 others Thank this. -
You know, I guess that’s the thing that I like the most about motorcycles...you take this idea in your head and make it a reality. It becomes a reflection of you.
Like ol Brad Pitt. Millions of dollars in the bank, and he’s riding down the 2 lane on some old rigid custom job with a twisted frame and a jockey shifter, old boots and cheap cowhide gloves. Rock and roll, dude!Feedman, 1951 ford, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 12 others Thank this. -
There ain't no way you was in the back seat of a chevette. The math don't work ! LOL @OLDSKOOLERnWV

Yes 18 single box. They will tell you can't do it. But they will. 12000 to 14600 same axle diff springs. 16 to 22 same axle diff springs. 18 to 20 two options 1 box with as sit cylinder or twin boxes. 22 twins. Only reason I wanted the 18 was to get the larger outer bearings. A 14600 is ok but if you max out the axle continuously it will shorten bearing life.Feedman, 1951 ford, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 14 others Thank this.
