Not even close. Especially that run.
"Gee, I get to drive in Dallas AND Laredo every day for the rest of my life??? Where do I sign up?"Makingmymoney33 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Nuh uh.
When I bought my tractor, my breakeven stood right around 1.10 to 1.18 and freight rates needed to be 1.60 or more to make a good payroll for myself after truck expenses.
And only 1.09? Come on man... Cass Index shows a variety of freight rates approaching upwards of 2.50 if not more. What are you doing with that stupid 1.09 being offered. Makes me think that broker or whomever is a true desperado to offer that crap.Makingmymoney33 and Opus Thank this. -
You say LTL. Are you making multiple stops in that 444 miles?
You are only getting 2664 miles per week.
I get around the same base CPM, but I get a substantial fuel savings with Crete, and can offset my fixed costs with a lot more miles a week.
That job *might* make you almost as much money as a poorly-paid company driver.
If there are multiple stops, and you do not get solid stop pay, and a decent labor rate if you need to load/unload, then the job sounds even worse.
Unless something goes wrong with your truck. Then your income will really start to hurt. Something *will* eventually go wrong with your truck.
If your truck is fully paid off and in good condition, it might be worth doing in the short term, if you are desperate.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
No stops. No big fuel discounts. I go to laredo ...drop, stay there for my 10 hr break..return to dallas with a load...in dallas for the next 10 hrs then back out again. Truck not paid off.

They are about .90 cents too low on that mileage rate. I wouldn't do it for that.
Makingmymoney33 Thanks this.
