I Might try the Mercer Van just gonna hate paying them the $$$ rent on the trailer lol
-
I must have missed it, why are you leaving flatbed?
-
Try for a while if you like it buy a van on your own if not give them there's back good luck in all your adventuresTruckerPete1990 Thanks this.

My back isn't handling it very well anymore.
-
yeah that can be a problem.

Its really not my business pete and wish ya luck whatever you decide, but youve been leasing a flat and are about to just hand it back to them so not much different than renting. If it bothers ya that much you could trade that flat in at a dealer to buy a van.mtoo Thanks this.

Mercer isn't getting that trailer back. It's going to another driverRickp Thanks this.

Mercer's rental program is the best one in trucking. $600 and it covers everything. But I don't put owning a trailer as a priority. The rental cost is a tax deduction and it's not going to break me. I look at it as a cost of doing business just like insurance or fuel. I pull a 2018 van now and it costs me $550 a month up to 10,000 miles a month. Over that it's $0.03 a mile. But I doubt I'll ever got it since I'm averaging about 1800 miles a week. I did a whopping 1250 miles this week. I couldn't buy a 2018 van and pay for insurance, maintenance, etc... for what I'm paying to pull this trailer.
Most companies with company and o/o say non forced dispatch until you turn down a good customer load. Then you get punished. Or you turn down a load and you go to the bottom of the list. Nope, never again. If I'm not booking the loads then I'm not driving the truck. The only problem I see with you pulling a van at Mercer is where you live. They don't have freight out here worth a darn. But I made it work and I'm sure you can to.TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -
Yea Pete if you owe 9k on a trailer it's no way I'm giving that back or even to another driver.. I'd either trade it in or pay it off and keep it.. Can't just give back 20k.. Im all for leaving but not at that kind of expense.. If you want to pull Van either stay here or go to LS. Never work for a company with company drivers. You'll never be first priority. Just my 2 centsdrvrtech77, mtoo and spyder7723 Thank this.
