Yes it’s a violation.... and I bypassed it. I received a violation in Georgia.

PE_T, Rideandrepair and asphaltcowboy4x4 Thank this. -
Yes that is part of the suspension, also any major air leaks will put you out of service.
PE_T and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Get it fixed.
Grubby, PE_T and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
That's like asking is having a inner drive tire flat is ok
Grubby Thanks this. -
Do you have pictures?
Only on one side? If it is bad, get it replaced.
Not as expensive as having a call out at a scale to fix it. -
Why is that even a question? You better get that fixed....the DOT will put you out of service for that
dibstr Thanks this. -
I have came across many trailers with bad or low air bags. I came onto some where the air bags looked like they was low or unable to fill. But the design of those bags and age of the trailer made it look like they was not working.
Look and listen to a leak and if there is one fix it. I knew one person getting hundreds to thousands of dollars in fines and points on his record. -
A driver should NEVER place a CMV on the road knowing there is a defect anywhere on it. I admit I have driven my truck for a ways to get to a service point. But if you are in such a place where you are going to cross a place with a bad reputation for busting drivers (like Banning Calif) DO NOT DRIVE! A violation for a busted airbag is not going to get you sent to the Florance supermax in Colorado. However, an OOS can be a pain in the butt!
