    They just asked me to apply on indeed out of the same terminal. All I read is they were not doing good financially and you had to give back 15% of pay. Now I have no idea how true this still is but any info would be appreciated

    Hey guys. Sorry you had to wait so long for a response.

    I worked at YRC many years ago, before they merged, at Yellow. I think those guys are just NOW starting to make what we made back in 2009 when I left, which was $80k a year for linehaul.

    I still have some friends who work on the linehaul side, so...home time is the unfortunate average of a couple days off after six days worked (bid guys get 1 day off after 6). Pension is minimal and should not be counted on.

    Their financial situation is not good, and the concessions their employees have agreed to are dragging down the entire LTL sector.

    It might be a good starter LTL company, but if you could get in at UPS Freight, FedEx Freight, ABF, Dayton Freight or Estes... those would be far better.

    Just my 2 cents regarding ABF;

    I worked for them up to two years ago as a delivery driver.

    Personally, I thought the company was way over rated; $22.00 per hour and overtime. This may have been good pay 20 years ago, but way too low for today’s standards. At least for me it was.
    They do have a pension, plus medical; both on addition to the pay that I mentioned.
    Not bad but I still couldn’t live on my paychecks, and I don’t live extravagantly.

    Varies by location. Carlisle drivers make almost twice what Mountain Top drivers make due to availability of work and geographic location in relation to other terminals.
    Carlisle to Akron = 293 miles which means a 586 mile day and sleeping in your own bed every night.
    Mountain Top to Akron = 330 miles which means you stay in a hotel in Akron for 10 hours before the return trip.
    330 mile days don't exactly pay the bills.

    I have my own issues with ABF, and only recommend them because most other companies are even worse. Lol

    They just voted on a new contract and it looks like it is going to be approved. Do not have the details. My son in law works for them in Columbus doing LTL local deliveries and he really likes the company.

    sorry, I wanted to know that and what miles, pay, what kind of shift? Am I going to be 5 days a week or 3 days in 2 weeks that I saw someone else on here say they gave them. I like to know from a driver what is happening at their place. I cant afford to be working two or three days a week after I quit the job I have now. I know the recruiter isnt going to give me the real life version to it thats all.Thanks for any info
