Are you talking Swift’s plan? Where I work I can choose just me and my wife. In fact, she has her health, but is on mine for dental and vision.Broke Down 69 and Lonesome Thank this.

Mine does. UPS does. YRC does. ABF does. I can think of many companies that do. You're working for the wrong company it sounds like.mjd4277, LtlAnonymous, superflow and 5 others Thank this.

Saia pays your insurance after 10 years of service, along with the union carriers such as abf and ups.

Before taxes.
He likes driving for Swift. I know, only three months in, but he feels well supported. I eel like what happens with some of the mega carriers is they are so big, of course there are bad stories. More of them, and the good ones get drowned out. I've spoken to many who have worked for Swift for years and enjoy working for them.LtlAnonymous, Lonesome and bryan21384 Thank this. -
What are the numbers AFTER TAXES though?
Also,is your buddy a company driver or doing the fleece purchase racket? -
Taxes are taxes and depending on how many dependents etc your claim, will determine the post tax check. He is a company driver. That is his money each week. He's on pace to net about $60,000 for driving his first year, not bad. What other field can you go into, and bam just start making $60,000 a year? Not many things left out there like that.Lonesome Thanks this.

Thinking like that will get people a surprise IRS audit in a hurry.
There’s a great deal more to it than just claiming dependents. How much money is going to federal and state taxes, how much you are having withheld for said taxes, how much is going towards medical,vision,dental,AD&D,401K(if applicable),etc.-all of that plays a role on whether you get a refund or you have to pay Uncle Sam some more.
And recently history has shown this year some folks got a nasty surprise when they did their taxes and found out they either get a significantly less refund or ended up owing!InTooDeep Thanks this. -
You're missing the point. Here, look at it this way.
A. You get a check for $1500 for the week. You're a single guy, no kids, no wife, no write offs. You're check is likely going to be about $1100 after all tax deductions.
B. You get a check for $1500 for the week. You have four kids and a wife who does not work at home. You're check for the week is going to be about $1380 after all dedications.
In scenario B you'll likely still get some type of refund come the end of the year.Newb2019, LtlAnonymous and bryan21384 Thank this.
