I know this is a joke in the ads but here goes..any companies that really give you a choice of loads and don't penalize you?

Swift and Digby Southwest (Swift Carrier) give you a couple choices on loads from what I’ve been told. You may want to verify this if you want to go there just for that.

A recruiter may say “no forced dispatch” but if you don’t pull what they give you then prepare for a bunch of lousy trips and a crapy paycheck.

Drivers like to have some flexibility and it would be nice if all carriers gave the driver a couple options. A lot of guys lease so they have more control only to find the shackles of all those payments takes away a lot of the freedom they thought they would get.

TMC used to be non-forced. Unsure if they still are. But you didn't want to make a habit of turning stuff down. If you did, they'd stop offering and let you sit for a few days.

Run for a landstar fleet owner . Lots of those drivers pick their own loads from a load board. Even a lot of those Russian outfits from Chicago let drivers do that using Dat, Coyote,CH Robinson, etc . I knew of one of those Russian companies in Florida where you could set up your whole week with the owner(s) before heading out . Do 2 or 3 loads then come home for 48 hours

Other than something like that, it's all forced dispatch to some extent

With Poly; it's non forced dispatch on outbound loads only ,correct ? Poly is a bit different because they're not a trucking company per say but a private fleet with that hauls their own stuff then gets a backhaul load

My company doesnt force dispatch... But not in the way y'all are thinking. I dont get to pick and choose my loads, but I DO get to tell dispatch WHEN I want a load, and WHEN & HOW LONG I want to be home. So I get to set my hometime schedule, no ifs ands or buts about it. And taking a little extra home time doesn't mean I get the crappy loads either... All our runs are 3300-4600 miles round trip in 5 to 8 days

    Do a lease purchase.
Then nobody can tell you what to do.
    You'll be the boss.

When you do something very good as a Co. Driver, the happy dispatcher will give you a choice of 5 loads to choose. What's your pleasure?
