I put brand new webasto coolant heater in new 4900SF last January 2018 worked great all winter. fired it up during summer like told too. went to put it to use in november and would firer up, run 30- 40 second and cut out. It keep doing this so I take it to a shop and they put aftermarket pump on it and it worked fine. but was going to cost $300.00 bucks. but unit was still under warranty so sent back to place of purchase. they had it 2 months and told me nothing wrong with it. just put it back in and same thing fires up runs 30-40 seconds and cuts out. is this what they call lockout? it says pull 15amp fuse to reset and theres no 15amp fuse??? Not impressed. can I get my money back and buy something that works for more than a year???

if you're an insane below wind chills it'll freeze up.. it's got a little tiny line that fuel line draws. does tend to freeze up that's why they always recommend if it's below -10 degrees F to run your truck..

Amazing that Webasto is able to get away with it. Biggest POS out there. Works sporadically . Never again will I buy another one !!

If you maintain things they seem to last longer...

My webasto worked for 1 week from brand new, that was this last winter........tried getting a replacement or refund, nope they don’t do that, still getting the runaround on warranty and it’s still sitting there not working

I don't know what you guys are doing to them, they are the most common ones used up here by far, and last very well.
I am talking about coolant heaters, not a whole lot of bunk heaters, though there is a few and a friends has lasted forever, under heavy use.
A friend gave me one that he put on a new truck and took it off when he traded it in for his next one.
He managed to not even rent a shop one winter with it and just had a toggle switch on it to turn it on and off, it ran 24/7 on his days off. I put it on my log truck and it still worked well, but I don't use it a lot.Orangepete75 Thanks this. -
I’ve got a Thermo top c that’s only a year old. It worked fine up until a week ago. During the summer months I ran it at least once a month to keep fresh fuel in it. Last week I programmed it to go through a cycle before I got to my truck. It wasn’t running. I started it up manually and I can see exhaust coming out of the exhaust pipe. I can hear the fuel pump clicking. I can hear the water pump spinning. I replaced the fuel filter. The intake coolant hose gets warm but the discharge side hose does not. What could be the problem?
