    Woke up to -11 in Wamsutter, Wyoming and a wind chill that was frankly incomprehensible to a Southerner. Hit it hard and somewhere about the middle of Idaho a very strange thing began to happen. It was getting pretty dang warm in the truck. By Boise, we had the windows half down and even hit a few bugs. It was in the low 50s and we were looking for shorts and tshirts. Now this won't last, we've certainly got one more good cold snap left in this b***h of a winter, but today we got a little taste of spring, and it was sweet.

    Lived in Green River over a winter a while back — firmly believe that if the world needed an enema, Wamsutter would be were the tube is inserted. Oh yeah, a few flys did come out of hibernation today.

    Wasn't quite spring yet, but I was loading the truck in the bottom of the canyon in Twin Falls today, and yes, yes it was rather nice and spring like. Still a little bit of winter's bite on the wind, but you could feel Spring fighting her back.

    I'm down here in AZ right now. Definitely still winter weather. It was almost 8AM before it got to 75 degrees in my sleeper.
