You just have to use to them. Then you won't wake up. My truck engine starts up and stop by computer at night for heat or a/c or battery charging.
-
Get used to it. That's trucking and there are a lot of reefers out here. If you can't get used to it, find a different line of work.
justcarhaulin, Scoot 1971, Lumper Humper and 9 others Thank this. -

parking stupid does!Lumper Humper, SteerTire, RustyChops41 and 6 others Thank this. -
I put loose nuts and bolts on the (metal) floor of the engine compartment so it makes as much noise as possible when it fires up every 20 minutes.
I have a carrier unit, of course. -
Old Units are more noisy , they don't care as much about noise levels.
The new units are very quiet... Like 1/4 the noise or less. -
Invest in a pair of good earplugsLumper Humper, austinmike and Upinsmoke Thank this.

Actually, the 2018 model Carrier units have a deeper low frequency noise that is worse than units of years prior. In some ways, Carrier units get noisier now with each new year. Sad. I hate Carrier units but our fleet is 100% Carrier. I prefer the older trailers over the brand new ones as far as noise goes. Heat mode is the worst.Snailexpress, bzinger, Upinsmoke and 1 other person Thank this.

We have some older units that are surprisingly quieter than some of the newer ones.Balakov100, Snailexpress and Upinsmoke Thank this.
