Hi
I was wondering if anyone has changed a cam follower gasket. The one that is leaking is right behind the starter. I’m told from others it’s somewhat Easy as removing the starter and cover and place gasket.
Then I hear about push rods, j brake Removal etc.. Depends on the N14 from what I’m told. Anyone one can direct me.
Much appreciated
Peter.

Check see if bolts are tight? Remove one at a time and loctite them has worked for me in the past.
blairandgretchen and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
and yes the push tubes have to come out.

I had the shop do mine. Labor intensive - parts are minimal.
Mine leaked for a while, then eventually blew out - losing a gallon every 50 miles or so. -
if tightening them up dont fix it they are not to bad to replace other then the starter and air compressor has to come off and its been awhile but I want to say the acc drive also has to come off just make sure if you do them there are numbers on the gasket that has to be the same number to go back in or it will effect the timing on the engine and yes push tubes have to come out first but its ok just change them all and run the over head no worries for years that way

I had my gaskets diagnosed (for leaks) and replaced by Cummins shop.
After the work was complete, gaskets didn't fix the leak.
Freeze plug was leaking.
Good luckBoxCarKidd Thanks this.
