I have been at Walmart 2 years I have never posted on here but this is my two cents. I have not made over 80000 probably could have if I extended out every week but that's hard to do when you live far away or management doesn't or can't let you. I was on a program 5/2 5/3 made 78000 then went to a standard 5/2 after my first year so six months program 6months 5/2 78000 I had to sit around a lot at D.C. Unpaid and watch dedicated walk out the door with freight..... Things are changing in the right direction and now hardly waiting around and making more money should make 80-90 this year not working extra and at least 60hr per week....some D.C. Are better than others with dispatches and wait time... I don't cut corners and do stuff the way Walmart wants me too and all in all I like my job and I am not looking for another one I plan on retiring from here... I do not regret coming here and I think starting out here you could make 70-90 depending on Murphy law and your hustle

My husband has been with UPS Freight for 2 years and only makes $45k. $100k isn't realistic there until you're at peak pay (which is lowered per the most recent contract) which takes 4 years to get to - and then you need the seniority to get a good run that will give you the miles (and that could be another 10-15 years bc runs are based on seniority)

How does that happen? My husband got an offer today and they said 47¢ a mile - with a 5% premium for being in the north east - and 400-600 miles a day

Are there other ways you're getting paid?

Welcome. Cents per mile, stop pay totaling $19.25 for drop/hook or $21 for live load or unload, $14/hr delay pay, $42 per night spent sleeping in the truck. Adds up.

Wow! They definitely didn't tell him that. His entire phone call was 15 minutes long and then he came in like "so, they gave me a conditional offer but the mileage is low and they didn't say anything about detention or layover"

Tell him to take it. He won’t regret it. I have been here now for 3 months. I gave up 14 years at ups freight and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I make about the same money here but the stress level is way lower.

No touch freight. Big money after you get the hang of it. I've come close to making $500 gross...in one day.

Awesome! He's with been UPS Freight for 2 years. We've had weeks where's he's brought home literally $160 either bc the guys with more seniority decide they don't wanna work in the snow OR hell be going in to work and because some city guy didn't have work, he gets bumped off his shift
