You would think.something like.an inspection would be done on an off ramp or somewhere safer. Hey the Troopers are always hiring..if you want the responsibility of working numerous accidents on a daily basis involving death and dismemeberment and think you can do a better job by all means go down to your nearest recruiting office and sign up if you can pass all the testslovesthedrive and bentstrider83 Thank this.

Not in Missouri. On his last day in office, Gov. Greitins signed a bill prohibiting cops from performing inspections on the shoulder of any road with a speed limit higher than 40 mph. That took effect last year, so you shouldn't see it anymore there. They have to move you off the highway (ramps are OK).PoleCrusher, dynamite, Bud A. and 4 others Thank this.

I was driving just north of there when it happened and had to come back thru that way to get back to the terminal. I guess the trucker was ticketed for breaking the move over law and released.

Parking anything on the shoulder is bloody stupid.
Yet I see it all day long - trucks taking their dog for a walk. Stupid.
Bikers taking a break. Stupid.
Cars stopped to get something out of the trunk. Stupid.
One valid reason only - sudden mechanical failure. All other matters should be taken to the nearest exit.
RIP to the officer, but inspecting a truck is hardly of earth shattering importance. Especially on the shoulder of the road.PoleCrusher, allniter, TripleSix and 11 others Thank this.
