it would be a waste of time to fire you for ONE minor incident. you probably had more than you are saying.

“...the security guard made me call my company...”????

WTF!? That security guard cannot make you do anything accept allow/deny entrance into the facility. Never call your company unless you want to call your company. If the security guard cared so much, he/she would have called your company.

As far as jobs go, try all of the MegaCarriers. Swift. Prime. Knight. Schneider. Sure, they could possibly make you go through training again, but it’s only 3-4 weeks, and you’ll have a fresh start. I know it sucks, but this may be your only option. Call them, it may be even less severe than what I’ve described.

    Best of luck.

JB Hunt is tough now, but they are not that tough. I agree with you. The OP is not being fully truthful here. What I think happened is damage was done and the Guard saw it. It's highly possible this guard was actually doing the OP a huge favor by advising the driver to call the company. Most guards have some kind of log. It got back to JB Hunt and they fired him for not reporting it. JB Hunt will do this. In post 23 I see a photo of a yellow barrier made out of concrete pole that has had the crap knocked out of it. It is leaning toward the fence and there is paint missing from around the bottom consistent with said bending. A guard witnessing this has no other option but to report it. Now the OPs employment summary with JB Hunt will say dates worked then (terminated) and most likely rehire after review. If that summary says do not rehire this would account for the rejections. One of the most frustrating things I know is trying to help someone after they pull such a stunt. Every building you will be around has a camera. Go pros and smartphones are in a lot of trucks (why there are many youtube videos) and these things get looked at. In today's world, it is almost impossible to do even very minor damage and there not be a video of it. IF you touch anything even slightly report it RIGHT THEN to safety or the nighttime dispatch. You wait and it might cost you your job. Another reason I think there is more to this is the fact the OP is a recent member and as of tonight has 6 posts. All 6 in this thread. The very first words the OP typed was a gripe about a previous carrier. This is just like the help me I tested positive threads we get. Some great advice was given in here. Too bad the OP is not leveling with us. I know several people in the JB Hunt safety dept. Good hard working friends of mine going back years. These people don't just fire a driver for skinned paint. Sorry, this tale doesn't hunt!

    Agreed!

Well even if you had just decided you didn't want to work there, you have gone through 2 mega companies in your first 3 months, you are done with the big outfits for a while, just the way it works. find you a little outfit, be it whatever you can find, construction or whatever, settle down and don't screw up, little outfits can't afford it. Most small freight carriers can not hire you because, their insurance will not let them, big ones are probably not because of your employment record, get in a dump truck or something for a couple of years and get some seat time in.

If as I suspect the OP was fired because of not reporting an accident/incident this is going to follow the OP. Big or small, carriers don't like to see this. Not reporting an accident/incident is not career fatal, but it sure can cause problems. Drivers have to account for that time. Even if a new carrier does not use DAC services those checks required by 391.23 (c) are still needed. However, getting out of a tractor-trailer for a long period of time can be more destructive.

I would of fired you to and here is why. You arent getting fired for a 3 dollar can of yellow paint. You are being fired because you didn't look in your mirror. If you had looked in your mirror your would of seen you were going to strike it. How could i trust you to use your mirrors in the future? Next time it could be a minivan with 4 kids in the back and instead of sending 3 bucks on some yellow paint I'm being sued for 50 million dollars for emotional distress, pain and suffering.

Swift will take anyone. You hit a pole, that's nothing when it comes to Swift.
