Drivers solutions is pushing this e-gearz web training prior to reporting for school. has anyone done it?
Is it worth while?
Or am I on pace by studying the PA CDL manual, surfing every site I can find till well after midnight, and listening to my crazy neighbor who has a dedicated route to CA.Additionally talking to any and every driver I can come into contact with.
e-Gearz Worth it or a waste of time.

I used the practice tests when I studied the manual. It helps you determine what you know and what parts you need more studying on. The flash cards are a fun way to test yourself too.

After surfing this site for the last few days, a general consensus is that they expect you to basically be able to pass the permit test by the time you get there. looking around the middle of May and just want to make sure I am ready.
-
I took my CDL permit test (Indiana) and it was a piece of cake. Why waste the 30.00 when you get the manual free from the BMV. Read it and don't put too much into the test questions. You'll do fine. Good luck
-
So is it true, that they expect youto be able to pass the permit test as soon as you get there?
-
Yes they do. I started to sign up with them a while back and they gave me access to it. I went through the general section of the test questions, 141 questions and only got 2 wrong. I had only read about 2/3 of the manual. I think it is a good tool to make sure you are comfortable with the material.

Since they have it down to $10.00 now for 30 days, I was thinking of doing it in my spare time (which seems to be alot of time now). And I am about 30 days out from when I plan to go now.

Its worth the 9.95. I have been reading the PA manual on the side, but it is so much more fun playing on the computer. Not as lucky on the general knowledge though I missed a few. If the actual test is multiple choice, I reckon it will be easy. Now all I have to do is get off my butt and get to school.

Hind sight being 20/20, I think egears was a push........
It did stimulate the grey matter, and assisted with familiarization, but.... alot of questions that were on the test were not even remotely close to the egears questions..
I did pass all the permit test on the first day. -
Well, my recruiter with Driver Solutions indicated egears was required. I was gonna buy it anyway but..... Anyway I bought it and completed all the tests in one afternoon/evening. I learned alot that I didnt know. I missed a total of about 3 questions out of the 3 tests. Hopefully that will translate to the actual test
. I still plan on reading through the Indiana CDL manual just so I am that much more prepared.
