You guys realize this is a precursor to chewing away at paid UT time, right?

So sitting in a dock is not earning PTO time?

I’m thinking they’re just trying to save money on UT payouts.

I can see people easily abusing this UT system too, which is against ethical behavior and should be handled individually, IMO.

But far too often it seems to me the mentality is to punish everyone in Walmart because of the actions of a few.

Maybe I’m a little fuzzy on what’s being said regarding dwell time though...

It's so ironic to me that WM tries to get their drivers out of the DC as fast as possible (they are on the WM clock). On the other hand, they couldn't give two rats about other company drivers sitting for hours waiting to be unloaded.
I'm glad I rarely get one of their loads.

I think wm has at least 4 hours to unload an outside carrier's trailer. It's not just Walmart. Sysco and mbm have similiar conditions.

I used to pull into the DC I run out of now with a partial as a last stop.

This was about 97 or so.

That took 8 hours back then.

    People should stop whining.

thats why we made all the fuss in the first place. outside drivers getting freight first and wm drivers setting around. take care of your own first.

All I can say is that all that ridiculous wait time only pushes up the price of goods.

That's exactly the reason why we quit hauling for WalMart.
I can understand them wanting to get their trucks out fast but making outside carriers wait well beyond their appointment times is insulting.
What really did it for us was when we dropped one of our trailers empty in the Red Bluff DC... and WM loaded it and sent it out on another outside carrier. It took us a week to get that trailer back and they didn't want to pay anything for trailer rental.
