My family lives in Northern Cali. Not moving there in a million years. But would love to be closer to them. Any suggestions on where a flatbed O/O could set up shop other than Cali out west? Drive safe and Happy Easter.

Here's one hiring in Las Vegas hauling PODS:
    Blackhawk Transport
Owner Operator Pay: $1.05 per Total Miles
FSC for ALL Dispatch/Round Trip Miles at $1.20 Peg, paid at $.01 per mile, per $.06 increments, based on National DOE. Substantial Fuel Discounts apply!! Owner Operator Sign On Bonus of $3,000 escrow credit.
Drivers will be assigned continuous moves to various PODS locations and will set ETA's with the locations and will need to be able to physically handle securing the container to the flatbed, by throwing 3 straps per container which must be secured on both sides of the flatbed -- No tarps, chains, or binders required.

I’ve heard good things about these guys but never talked to one of the drivers.

Try putting Elko or Ely zip codes in the job search and see if anything comes up that you might like. Both of those towns are smaller and would be much cheaper than Vegas to set up a home base if you don’t mind small towns. Nevada will be much cheaper on taxes than Oregon or Cali.

TP trucking out of Central Point is a good outfit. I was leased to them for a year and have nothing but good things to say. Run alot of California though.

White Mountain Trucking in Phoenix really seems to be stepping up their game, I see lots of their trucks running on I-10 between Phoenix & LA.
Mostly looks like Company trucks, but I do see some O/O with the logo on the truck.

Ummm, I am stumped at the $1.05/mile thing. And what is $1.20 peg?

I think it's must mean $1.20 loaded and empty; all dispatched miles. Haven't heard the word "Peg" before; maybe it means "top out."

Ellimar1021, cke and TripleSix Thank this.
