Why not avoid a bad company ?

    Frankly, there’s only one important stat and all the rest is just a bunch of hogwash.

    All I want to know is do they employ Kentuckians and, if so, how many.

    They don't take into account who is to blame on accidents. Yet. May Trucking Company drivers are certainly not responsible for all of them.

    I've heard of about half a dozen bridge jumpers over the years. A couple of them landing in guys laps through windshield. One got killed if I remember correctly.

    I would worry about not getting in ANY more accidents. You are very lucky to be driving a truck at all, even if it is for a two bit outfit like Western Express. Its unlikely anyone will touch you with that record. I'd stay where you are till a couple accidents come off your record. And pay attention to what the hell you're doing !

    There is a bridge in cali on i8 just once u get out of san diego, its got the suicide hotline posted about every 100ft... It depresses me everytime i go over it because its a nice scenic bridge but i cant even imagine how many dead bodies have hit the dry riverbed below, to make them put up a sign...

    Not just bottom feeder CDL mills train any more; many-many-many medium to big companies train now and some are places a driver may want to stay a while:
    Millis, Maverick and Melton - just to keep it to the 'M's'
    They all offer free training and guarantees of over $50K to the first year rookie
    Maverick does flat beds and (so far as I have seen) has a good reputation for quality securement training and training generally. The starting OTR rate for a rookie fresh off the trainer's truck is 47CPM

    New drivers have much better choices now-a-days but, ya know, good news aint sexy - or somthing. We drivers generally prefer the dark, gloomy, threatening, haunted-castle-in-a-lightening-storm kinda news.

    May had plenty of riff riff when I was there, but they had some decent folk too, present company included. :)

    The riff raff could always be found hanging around the yard(s) and in the drivers lounge(s). Nothing more nauseating than being subjected to the noise pollution of an overbearing, obnoxious, know-it-all, blowhard. Lol

    Thus, why I avoided the yards and lounges like the plague. I showed up for whatever purpose I was sent to the yards for (trailer swap, service, etc..) and then I hit the road pronto, even if only to go 20 miles down the road to a truck stop.
