It means your coordinator is using different preferences than what you are searching.

You can also call Mercer and ask them to give you a mentor phone number... That might help you , by getting questions you have answered over the phone...

When does the load board and brokers shut down for the day? I’m assuming if I click on a load now I’m not going to know anything till tomorrow.
Sorry for all the questions but I hate to bother one single person with a bunch of useless crap

Usually 8 to 5 for whatever time zone the agent is in.

In addition to what Rick said, it's also a Monday through Friday operation with the Agents and Coordinators with the exception of a couple people working in Louisville on Saturday for a couple hours.

Just like everyone else said, it's your business, and nobody has your best interest in mind, other than yourself.
Study the load board, look at different areas, make some notes, learn these lanes.
Don't be afraid to call and talk to the agents.
I book about 90% of my own freight, but there are times that a great load pops up and my coordinator calls me about it....they are just another tool in your box.
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions of your coordinator, contractor relations, or on here!!!!!

This is incorrect. There is a single 8 minute period after a load hits the board where board position counts. If one or more trucks with board position accepts on the load then it goes to whichever of them is highest (longest time since empty, not necessarily closest). After that 8 minutes it is a free for all.

As far as relying on your coordinator, remember he or she sees 50 trucks every day and knows where freight is and is not moving well. Feel free to bounce load ideas off of them and pick ones you think will work out better for you, but not utilizing your coordinator is like running a marathon by hopping on one foot, just for the sake of a challenge.

To be honest, the flatbed freight sucks right now and the rates are horrible.. If you have a high over head over here you're gonna be in trouble. Second get used to sitting unless you're willing to haul under 1.70. You'll see

Don’t have much fixed cost so 1.70 makes me money but I’m like everybody else the more the better
