yep, Curt! I think everyone knew that! However, here's what I have learned that not alot of people know. Alot of 'former employees' that worked in the office were terminated because of 'inside office affairs'...and some for having relationships with Drivers(Tracy being #1. She used to be the Orientation girl, then moved to accounting, THEN they moved her back to Orientation...she started a relationship with a driver and lost her job). NOW, I'm not saying who, and no, not Tina(haha), but I have 2 very reliable sources that have told me all about Susan Parke and her 'doings' within the 'upper staff'. These people are close friends with people within the company(higher ups, not drivers) and don't work there. You have to admit though, you've made way more than Rollings "$1200 a week" moving on, haven't you? I can't tell you how many guys I know that worked at Epes and went somewhere else only to make way more than that. $1200 a week is 'typical BS talk' for general freight. Sure, some guys make that, but not alot...and the ones that do, don't post their actual incomes without photoshop.

I only make $1040 a week now which is PLENTY for me. And that’s excellent considering I only work 36 hours one week, 48 the next. But this week I only worked 24 because Easter we didn’t have to work. I’ve got it made in the shade. Don’t be jealous.

Was glad to hear Earlywine retired. Was sad to hear what triggered it . We had been told Epes had given him that Pete . It seems he blew out a steer tire , got it replaced, and they routed him to Greensboro to get his truck checked out . Several hours later they roll a Freightliner up to the drivers lounge , here is your truck . That’s not my truck , that’s the assigned truck now . The old one is retired, not worth fixing . He leaves and gets to thinking about what just happened , tells them forget it I am retiring . So they never gave him the truck , just let him keep it till it was not serviceable . So start of his day he thinks he owns a truck, end of the day he is trying to find a way home . Do not know if the sale is what changed or what happened.
That said , hope he has many happy , healthy years of retirement ! And not feel shortchanged about this . And thanks for the many , many years of service to the company .

Interesting. I think that’s Pete was an 03 or 05. He had close to 60 years with Epes. Hats off to Jimmy...

whatever works FOR YOU, works for you! No arguing with that. I'm just getting tired of all these drivers that are FOS out here. There was one guy, at Epes, saying he made right over 80K one year. IMPOSSIBLE THERE! Even IF you are on 'dedicated'(not talking about you). This was a few years back before the raise. When I was there I believe top pay was 45cpm? Yeah, a little while ago. But, I have to admit, I like the way I'm treated by my company and other drivers out on the road, compared to when I was at Epes. I don't understand how all the 'trainers' there always walked around like they were 'your boss', if you weren't a 'trainer'. I just had a horrible experience at Epes, EXCEPT my final full year. I drove my butt off and all I had to show was 54K. Then it was right back to the typical 'struggle to gross 1K a week', that's when I was done! No looking back! If I want to make 1K a week, I'll just go local. and local guys can't make 1K a week there.

One week I work 48 hours and gross $1160, the next week I work 36 hours and gross $920. Home everyday about 6:30pm. We have one of the new model freightliners day cab leased from Penske and it runs 70. Our back up is a little older 10 speed. It runs 70 too. But we do A LOT of trailer moves in a day. I move 24-28 trailers a day. Swing door trailers. We really need a yard truck. Not a day cab.

so, besides the 'holiday' pay raise, any REAL changes over there? Are OTR allowed to use Penske terminals, now?
