The battle might be winnable for me personally since I am close to retirement age and therefore only expect to drive another 5 or 6 years or less, but yes, it's ultimately a losing battle for the driver community as a whole.

The death of privacy is one of the 21st century's most defining characteristics so far.

Drive cam ain’t going away with knuckle heads behind the wheel. Like last night for instance. I was passing another LTL carrier and I was wondering why he was swerving and hitting the rumble strip it was because he had his cell phone in his hand. On top of that he was pulling Rocky Mountain doubles. You can pull up to 105k in my state. Imagine if that guy wrecked that set or killed someone. Mass carnage and a heavy law suit that would probably sink that LTL carrier(it’s a smaller regional carrier).

Driver cams won't put a dent in that problem. But another defining characteristic of the 21st century will: autonomous vehicles.

Marathon confirmed that they use DFC's, was going to apply but saw them on the list here and asked.

CFI does but the dfc is supposed to be turned off but I think that’s a lie.
It can be goofy it goes off constantly for silly stuff. I’m talking hooking or unhooking a trailer, hitting a pot hole, bumping a dock, wind hits you hard when you’re empty, a rock hits the radar sensor. The poor company people have heard my terrible language (I use profanity with a blend of sarcasm and cynicism to stay amused) but no one has said anything YET

Decker is another company that sucked long before Driver facing cameras were even a thought.
