Mountain City; that's where Danny Herman Trucking is headquartered.
This company doesn't run Northeast! They run a lot of Southern California and Texas.

I don't get this type of stuff. "may hire him" ####, the man has a boat load of quality experience. I don;t understand this industry in that newbies seem to have the upper hand on experienced drivers if they stepped away for a few years. An I'm a newbie. LOL. I mean it's got to be like riding a bike, right? Why would you stay away from someone with decades of experience? I see this story all the time on the forum. A driver takes a few years off and nobody will talk them, and the guys just getting their CDL's are being begged to apply.

"May" & "Might" are two different scenarios. Many companies will hire a driver in his situation.
Same with "experience required" on websites and advertisements. Many companies bend those rules for a driver that's been off the road for a few years or a new cdl grad with a strong application.

  5. Agreed, with a clean driving record, PSP, DAC and a new hazmat and 8 "recent" good inspections I applied to 1 company because of their equipment and running lanes and was snatched up in 2 hours.

    darinmac38 and Chinatown Thank this.

I'm jealous; you just returned from the Philippines!
Hopefully, I'll spend the coming summer in China.

Helping a friend trying to get back into a truck after a 3 year hiatus. He drove three years flat bed for Howard Transportation. He lives in the Tucson AZ area. Nobody will touch him. No DUIs, accidents. Great work ethic! Not understanding this mentality.

Why won't the companies hire him?
Here's some that probably will hire with even with that long gap in driving:
Tell him to submit some online apps before calling. Then call and say, "I'm checking on my job application."
    Click on blue lettering below:

Freymiller - www.drive4freymiller.com - click on "Restore Program"
Western Express - Western Express, Inc. - The Land Of Opportunity - Find ...
Celadon - Home | Drive Celadon

  9. If his record really is that clean Danny Herman will definitely hire him . I'm sure they hire in Tucson I'm on my way back from Nogales Az right now..
