If it's spokane in rush hour, they can have it all. Good riddiance.
Just being in Spokane was nothing good. I don't hate them, but howdy were they shovy.
Schedule too tight?

You can do it when you know the route. Yet it will be a little bit longer at first as you dont know the turns and all.

No doubt.... I try never to go to the "big city"... crossing that line in to Idaho makes all the difference. Luckily it's an overnight run that leaves Spocompton at 1900 and gets back around 0900 on Saturday morning. Traffic should be good then I hopex1Heavy Thanks this.

I signed on to make this run starting this weekend.... Brand new Pete 579 with the Paccar MX 13 and Automatic...... Never driven an Auto before, so lots of learning in the future I think...
Farmerbob1 and Truckermania Thank this. -
Note 1..... made in in 13 hrs, 9.75 on the road, 2.5 on the docks and 30 min DOT and 15 min PTI.... was not bad, but those long MT construction zones are killers
Note 2...... Autos are great on the flats and in traffic..... Suck donkey balls on the passes..... always trying to run a gear too high....
We'll see what next week brings...Truckermania Thanks this. -
Thanks for the update. Not much wiggle room here. I still say you will be fine until Winter, then all bets are off. At least you have a few months to fine tune things.
NightHawk365 Thanks this. -
I believe there are settings in the auto transmissions that control shifting parameters. Maybe your truck needs an adjustment to downshift a bit earlier on upgrades.

What kind of manual do you have? I am assuming you can put it in manual mode, which is the thing you should do when descending a grade.

As the new guy, I'm just going to ride it out for a bit before I go making any suggestions... but definitely, adjusting the shift points by a 150 RPM would make a huge difference. The biggest issue is as soon as it hits 1450, it wants to upshift. So I hit the bottom of the hill, it down shifts a gear, then as soon as we get a little momentum, it upshifts and everything is lost. I'm going to do some reading and see about going into manual mode, or something that will let me over-ride the thing. Since it was my first run, I didn't have much time to learn anything.... Giddyup go.....Farmerbob1, Accidental Trucker and Lepton1 Thank this.
