It all depends on how fast he intends to drive. It looks heavy enough that the truck probably can't run fast enough to blow it off anyway. lol

Lots of stepdecks and weven flats have container locks built in any more. Unless that is a regular shipment, it would be unusual for them to be in the right place.

Correct. See video. At the 0:48 mark one is being lifted and you can see the twist locks. Sand Box is usually in an ISO chassis and Arrows Up is usually on a drop deck......at least here in the NE.

I was talking with these two drivers, the one with can locks got pulled over in Canada because the Mountie didn't see any chains and was surprised to see the unit was indeed secured.

    yeah, container style locks.

They use a lot of step decks around here for that, just like that.

Could be container locks but I’ve never seen a trailer with just locks in the middle. Usually they’re at the front and rear for 40’s then in the middle to haul two 20’s and another set to haul a single 20 centered. Plus it’s no where near 20’ long. They could have been installed for these particular units if it’s a regular account.

most of these are sand loads for fracking oil wells. They are set up like this and they run a couple loads a day. I believe it's not a big deal to move the container style locks out of the way if they want to go back to being a normal step deck.

I’ve never seen movable container locks, not sure I’ve seen them on a 48’ but could be.
