Btw anyone who uses the repair svcs at the Mercer yard in Louisville, word on the fb page is that they have booted Arthur's truck repair from the yard effective the 14th and replaced them with boss truck shop on the yard...they wouldn't divulge why they came to that decision..

 

Wow that's terrible. I really like Arthur. Jimmy and his brother are both really good guys. Honest and fair.

What a shame.

Ok question.

I have an air leak in my tractor suspension dump/leveling system. It's not noticeable going down the road. It takes about an hour or so to dump to where it stops the leak at around 70 psi left in the system. The arm doesnt appear to be bent, cracked, broken, or damaged in any way. However, it is looser than I would expect it to be. When I wiggle it, the leak speeds up.

How loose is the arm supposed to be, if at all? If it's the seal, is there a way to check/replace that? Is it just as easy/cheap to replace the whole valve?

 

When I got my last inspection done at Mercer a flyer was posted in the lounge for I believe for the Kenworth dealer that's in the Louisville area saying they would have a repair truck on the Mercer lot doing repairs daily... Not sure if that's still going on or what.

 

From what was reported..boss shop is now coming on the yard.

 

those valves are disposable items, I have had to replace them relatively frequently. they take a lot of abuse and just wear out. Usually easy and quick to replace one and not very expensive.

 

It looks pretty simple and straight forward, just wasnt sure how much they run.
