    I’ve never asked them. I’ve heard some say they don’t but I’ve seen some drivers walking their dogs. I have a 100 pound lab at home. I love her and spoil her rotten, but I don’t think I want her in the truck with me because of the shedding and panting. Lol. She stays at home with the wife while I’m on the road.

    I don’t understand why drivers torture their dogs in a truck??? It was just not right for a dog to be confined in a truck bouncing around all day

    Seriously? He loves to ride. He has a much more exciting life than most dogs who are confined to a yard their whole life. He gets lots of exercise...me too. He gets to pee all over and explore the whole country.

    @Tanker_82
    Do you need a “Twic card” as a driver for IRT?
    Does IRT drivers go into “Port of entry” to pickup loads?

    You don’t have to, but it’s useful. I’ve been to the Port of Wilmington without one. I had to pay $50 for an escort inside the property. IRT reimburses us for that.

    Remember you are going to be going to a lot of places that will not let you in with an animal as the USDA laws do not allow it,and if you get caught it could mean loss of the account for whoever you drive for. Back when I pulled food grade no outfit would let you bring animals in the truck because of it. Not to say drivers don't do it and some animals are way cleaner than a lot of the steering wheel holders of today. Good Luck.
