Forget one thing while some may be able take students as drivers if they self-insured the first accident they have could be the one that puts the nail in the coffin for a smaller company that is and if they have more then one well thats like having a the bases loaded and expect home run when the batter tore his shoulder previous day on top fact the bases are loaded with people who can't walk.
Another would be finding a seasoned driver take said low wages. If there's no season driver to fill they just collect dust. Let's give example say it's local and wage is 7.25 hour who as a trucker in their right mind take it. I would sooner go back to welding and there's more competition there everyone and their grandmother became one those when the oil boom hit thinking they gonna strike it rich that all said some the best welders I have met be surprised are female maybe because they more detailed orientated.
There will always be companies who fail because they can't get there operations expenses in check and freight moving. there gonna be new companies because someone got the ball rolling and get it off the ground to point he or she no longer has to drive.
They need to require higher standards for reg driver license anyways when they up the CDL they just made it harder for the bad ones fall into the cracks and say they are a driver but then even if you fell into the cracks eventually the driver will be in supertrucker status enough your gonna mess up where the DOT gonna make it costly to you.
Projected driver shortage to tripple by 2026 but companies keep closing?!

They jumped the gun when things were great and now freight is soft. Many companies took on a lot of debt to get ahead and now fell flat.faux_maestro Thanks this.
