Clearly there are intersections on major hwys that are perfectly fine to make U-turns. Some turnarounds even have cut-outs to give semis extra room to make the turn. Some turnarounds have signs that say no U-turn TRUCKS. What came to mind was the times I've seen drivers making U-turns at turnarounds when there was no traffic light on a 4 lane divided hwy. Hwy 58 East of I-85 in VA has a few. Its a dark, narrow, twisty and hilly divided 4 laner with turnarounds. They may have a turning lane or may not. Ive seen trucks with the tandems hung up in the culverts running down the center. I've seen drivers successfully make U-turns on these same type of turn arounds, though it's a risk I wouldn't take.

You know some policies we view as bad while other even among drivers is a bad idea but in rare chances, we all agree. U-turn are bad okay does this make you a bad driver? Only if you don't learn from your mistakes. Keep idea being supertrucker status is bad and avoid it take things slow don't rush if you have to find a place like Wal-Mart or something to turn around 30-50 miles it's better then a bad choice leads to someone driving into your rig. Those rules are there in a lot companies because drivers do them cause a crash thinking only takes a few seconds it doesn't takes half a minute make a complete u-turn. If they drive into it and die keep in mind your lose more than your job.
I hope you learn from this we all make minor issues and the difference is we learn from it or we keep the same old trick and get complacent.
I hope you find a good company and learn from this.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -

Not an excuse, but a bit of an explanation of why I used DAK and not DAC at first. I did see it right off and edited it back to DAC. I use some DAK products and have been in facebook a bit talking about them. So to be honest I suck at multitasking.
