Getting my own authority isnt out of the question, but that's down the road quite a bit. With the current rates, I dont see how people survive running solely off spot market. So until I have my own customers or the rates go up quite a bit, I'll be with Kreilkamp.

And you guys only run Midwest and northeast right? That must suck and you can’t pick your own loads can you? Definately look at landstar hell even Schneider pick your own freight if you wanna make more do flatbed at landstar Mercer admiral merchants Bennett pretty much all those flatbed loads average atleast 2 bucks a mile from what I’ve heard I’m not an owner op tho crst Malone says average 2.5 a mile

I normally gross over $2 a mile per week. Some weeks might be closer to $3 some under 2. Also I try to stay around 6k at least each week. My best week was a 10k week but that was only because the right loads fell into place. Had a nice $4500 load out to Oregon, did a couple short one day loads and got back to Wisconsin and it all landed on one check.

Kreilkamp tries to accommodate each drivers wants/needs. If a driver wants to stay out west, they try to manage that. Personally I stay where the customer base is as much as possible (being Wisconsin). From there, alot of northeast, east coast and some midwest.

I dont pick my own loads per say, no. But, if I wanted to go anywhere from anywhere, I could. He knows I dont care where I go, I just want to make money. So that's how we work. But no, for me personally I like having someone booking my loads for me. Takes alot of the headache and hassle of dealing with brokers off of me.

I have looked at landstar, schneider, and mercer, but currently in the beginning I am not interested in booking my own loads. I am happy where I am, and am comfortable with the people I work with. If I were to move to say landstar, sure maybe I could gross a little more, but the headache involved would not be worth the extra revenue.

Jon, you still at Kreilkamp? I've been approved to come in for training but not looking forward to all the NE. Especially with winter coming up. I live in NC. I hear they are a good company.

Yes, still here. You coming on as a company driver or op? They dont run "all" NE, but that's where their freight goes majority of the time. I think there are drivers that dont want to run NE, but they take the hit on pay if they choose that. Not entirely sure though. I run where the money takes me, so yes I go ne almost weekly.

Since I have been here, I cant complain about anything really. I also dont look for things to complain about. Everyone there has always been nice and helpful whenever needed.
