Do you know what one touch is? let me put this way I touch I tell the phone call 911 give them the company name tractor number, highway direction, license plate. Trust me it's nothing invasive if it's invasive thankfully I know exactly what to do stop driving handle my business. Takes me 1 min stop and everyone safe I get up speed if it was a safe place is on off-ramp or say shoulder and get up speed on the shoulder and then I merge into traffic not before up to traffic speed with the turn signal on.

Done this enough times cops at that point won't care I tell them they can call me anytime I don't put myself or anyone at risk. I rarely ever park on the shoulder but sometimes you do like in the country. Guess what the load is still on time no one was harmed I never force my way back either like some these people I have seen but then they jump in from shoulder doing 30mph wonder why there's so many dam accidents you do stupid you gonna get bad results every time.

I drive safe I can't say I will ever get rich I know I won't ever be rich either unless I win the lottery I won't for sure be one who kills someone because they had to tell there g/f wife in a text. You need both hands on that dam wheel while the one touch is brief texting ain't brief IDC how fast you think you are with it. you distracted looking at it I am never looking away from that roadway. You know I tell them officers I am on one touch they welcome give me a ticket not once have they sent me anything or had a prob saying 90% they tell me to thank you. One time I received a thank you letter in the mail from DPS officer rest is they need nothing more and I continue.

I don't go looking ruin a trucker day but you know the people I call on ain't truckers the things I call on are grossly negligent and they are a menace and I am stopping a bad situation from going forward. It's not just reg cars he may take out btw he can get distracted while driving to pass you decide come in your lane guess what your gonna be same direction that one that other going because the force alone gonna stop you from being in control. You gonna wish that truck driver was doing his job if you survive otherwise you maybe having supper with your maker.

Sometimes there IS a need for speed. As I write this I'm parked in our yard in Fontana, CA. Yesterday morning I had an appointment to unload near Clovis, NM. The crew was late getting the forklift and receiving area squared away and I finally got underway with less than two hours to make a deadline to pick up a load in Lubbock.

If I was late at a minimum I would be charged $100 as a late fee. That shipper was planning on knocking off early for the holiday weekend. There was a good chance I would have to wait until Monday to get loaded.

Instead I set cruise control at whatever the speed limit allowed. 75 mph in Texas. I made it to the shipper within the deadline with minutes to spare. By the time I finished securing the load and rolled out the gate a convoy of employees were following me out, with the last one locking the gate right on time for their holiday weekend, with no need to pay overtime.

    Everyone is happy.

What if I instead chose to dawdle? Who would be happy then?

Who cares? I'm back to being a company driver again.

But WHAT IF I was paying for the fuel? It would be the SAME equation. I spent a year and a half owning my own truck and paying for the fuel. Do YOU think I would risk spending five unpaid days until Monday morning because of a few dollars extra burned fuel???

so did you do 75 in CA? I am confused 100$ late fee over points that one could get from a ticket anyday plus points you don't get back even if you get lucky only takes one time and you out a lot more. Plus you would be even later, and more money out the pocket. You burn more fuel faster you go it's not rocket science. You know DOT can look at your logs and tell if you were speeding like CA. Late or not I wouldn't have risked speeding. Goes to your trip planning if you can make the run in time and safely.
If you get pulled over I assure you people will laugh there arse off saying look at that Supertrucker.

Though some people don't seem understand the problem with that I guess all we truckers can ask that the law finds them often and get them off the road and so another driver can take there place a safer one.
