I purchased 3 trucks so far, my thoughts from my experiences.
1. in 2003 a used volvo 770/2001 /Det D60 for 70,000$, 420,000 miles , motor warranty to 500k. Was risky to buy a truck like this , quite expensive ,with only 80,000 miles warranty left on motor.
2. in 2007 a new Volvo 780 2008, for 134,000$, D13 250,000 miles motor warranty.
3. in 2017 a used volvo 780 2010 for 20,000$ with 1 mil miles, drove it until last year september 150,000 miles, (it paid for itself) when bulgear failed i purchased reman Volvo D13 motor with 350,000 miles warranty. for 30,000$.
I would go again for 3rd option.
What would be the best path?

The more you talk the more you sound like someone who inherited a bunch of money who wants to do whatever the hell you want but still make a bunch of money. If I’m wrong I’m sorry. If I’m right then sorry but your more then likely screwed.
Company drivers that buy trucks to be their own boss and work less don’t realize that there is a reason the company runs the truck that hard. It’s because that’s what is required to be profitable.stillwurkin, truckdriver31 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

Leasing isn't fleecing, that's just ignorance.
A good company that allows you the flexibility while paying you without hesitation should be a goal, not having the "freedom" to do what you want, we don't have freedoms people think we do, the customer dictates to all of us,they are the source of our revenue and they make the rules.stillwurkin Thanks this. -
