Don’t do it! Look into other companies. The first 3 months of 2019 almost every Chicago customer they had vanished. I never seen any dedicated runs personally what I can say is this if your truck & trailer are paid for you can survive. As far as 2 loads a day, Chicago loads, and good rates good luck. They don’t hound you or force you to take loads, well they didn’t when I was there. It may work to get your 1 year flat & OTR and then move down the road. However when I left agents where #####ing because drivers wouldn’t take their cheap freight, and I was told by contractor relations that the powers that be were getting upset about it so maybe they changed. I D K. Oh the other thing the CHI office is notorious for cancelling your loads, the CWC (both Chicagoland agents) office is the same but they usually wait until you arrive and call them and give you the Oh I meant to call you yesterday.

@rahtek I'm not sure what particular shippers the recruiter is talking about... My guess would be the roofing shingles out of Summit, Illinois. I rarely see those loads on the board at all anymore. Even then doing 2 a day would be almost impossible considering the wait times at that shipper to get loaded not to mention the traffic depending on which direction they go...

As far as Chicago to Cleveland that's more realistic but again right now the lack of loads here is making just about any lane rather difficult without either deadheading a ton or sitting...

Atleast for myself that's how it's been as I normally try and keep regional between the states that touch Indiana and Ohio...

It was in the other article, but I tried to follow that link and apparently if you aren't subscribed you cant read the whole thing.... not sure how I got to see it the first time.

I'm not going to research the law for you. It's illegal. It's a type of fraud. It's not illegal if they split the commission, it is illegal if they each take a full cut or if the original broker or shipper is unaware of the re-brokering. As long as everyone communicates and only 1 commission is split between all brokers, it's perfectly legal. It becomes illegal when deceit is involved. That's when it becomes fraud and theft from the carrier/driver.

So you can't show the law?

Just make a claim with no evidence, typical truck stop lunch counter legal advice.

If you've ever watched the DAT board, you can see it happening. One particularly large company's agents do it all the time. So much so that some of the better brokers will not use them.

You're the one talking about suing over it, contact an attorney, it's illegal. I'm not the one lunch counter talking, truth is truth. You're the one running your mouth about if it was illegal blah blah blah. What you probably experienced wasnt double brokering by law, but unless you got to see the paychecks, you wouldn't know. Then again, maybe it was. Either way, co-brojering is legal, double brokering is not. If you have a legit complaint, file it. Otherwise, quit being a keyboard warrior.
