Hate to hear that, friend.

 

Yet 34 years of driving trucks, and I still get shocked regularly.
I sometimes long for the good old days, when it seemed simpler, and even the radio conversations I heard were usually nicer.

 

I told @sawmill when I saw it it needs a block. Being honest I have put motors in them for the exact same issue. I called a guy that was my competitor when we had the place in town, looking to see if he had anything skeeter could use. He gave me the name of the guy at CAT that had a repair solution. Long story short Skeeter emails me the repair procedure. Its exactly the way you outlined it should be done.


Steve you are one sharp tack, I would like to see you give your input a little more.

 

Yep. Something was more soothing in the way they used to convey " shut up stupid " compared to now. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I have to agree with you.
Maybe it was because they used to have a personal touch to it ? When they said it, it was obvious to everyone within earshot that they meant you ( actually me ) and no one else. Now that personal touch is missing, they just shout it to the wind and aim it at everybody.

 

Ever have a song stuck in your head that drives you nuts because you can’t remember the name?

I feel better now.

 

He was having little success and almost quit recording right before he made that album. Someone ( think it was his wife ? ) talked him into trying just one more time and that was a big selling record.

 

One of my favorites. Foo Fighters did a good cover of it too.

Sounds like you’ve got a plan though.
If ya think about it, please take a pic or two during/after the fix. I’m sure it could help others down the road.
