They make the world a better place. Tough job, tight places, idiots walking close by with a cigarette...

Try jet fuel...better conditions. Single drop, single load...check with locals in your area for pay rates.

I don’t want a job pulling a gasoline tanker. I was just curious as to how much they make

All I know about is the tanker outfits in our area, including us.
It depends on where they are and who they're working for. Drivers in the metro areas usually make a little more than drivers in the smaller towns.
Most of the tanker jobs in our area used to be Teamsters. Now none of them are.
Our fuel tanker drivers make between 75 and 80 grand a year. Our dry bulk tanker drivers make less than that.

Not as much as they used to........

Top companies the ones with the oil company names on them made well over 100K years ago. Now not so much....

Notice how all the oil companies got rid of their private fleets......

My best guess (based on experience and talk around the racks) would be 60-70k depends on location........

Most pay by the load so it depends on you...do more loads make more money. I'll be around 83 in my first full year. Could make more working a 6th day or if I wanted to work more than 11 hours. Easiest job I've ever had. We also just got a 10% raise and split loads and terminal hops just went up to 20 bucks each...could make 80 bucks before you even leave the rack. This is North Carolina btw your area may be different

Whereabouts in NC? I'm looking at some potential tanker jobs down around Wilmington.
