( times out of ten it seems like when someone decides to help guide me they stand where I can't see them anyway. lol
Lately it seems like I could not back up near as well as I always have been able too. I have been chalking it up to the fact that Ijust don't back up anywhere as much as I used to and now in most cases it is in easier places too, rarely a hard place.
I have also been noticing I could not see out of the mirrors or rather judge the distance as well as I used to.
I went to the eye doctor and am now shut down waiting on catarac surgery, shoot I may be backing like normal iffen they fix my lookers. lol

Just starting out you aren't the only person to come on here with a similar story so here's some friendly advice. Don't take this the wrong way because I'm not here to troll you, make you feel bad, or be a dick but the #### ups stop NOW!!! You have learned your lesson and guys above have given you some great advice like @LtlAnonymous , just go slow, goal like 10 times per back and #### all the super truckers waiting on you. Think long and hard about how these two accidents could have been avoided, learn from them and be the best driver you can possibly be from today going forward. Good luck, stay safe.

Several companies will hire you; don't worry about that.
The guy with the broken headlight trim probably makes a lot of money by saying someone hit him. That's a scam a few lowlife truckers use. I've heard that same story so many times I've lost count.

When I was in trucking school one of my instructors gave me great advice. It's all been mentioned on this thread already but I will emphasize what he told me.

"Take your time. If you have to get out and look 100 times then that's what you do. Don't get in a rush. Don't get frustrated. Who cares about people waiting on you. Everybody was new once. Don't worry about other people or be in a hurry. Don't challenge yourself if you don't have to. If you see an easy spot to park or pull into than do it. There will be plenty of opportunities on the road that will test you. You don't need to "challenge" yourself. If you don't feel comfortable find another spot. Lastly, try to arrive with plenty of daylight out still. It's more difficult at night."

    Hope that helps.

Good luck to you. If Swift drops you. A second chance company might pick you up.

It's painful to learn from bad experiences.
