Had a group of new Macks come in not too long ago, standard cab chassis mp7 powered with the M-Drive. Within one month every one has been in the shop or sent back to Bruckners for MAJOR problems. A driver was heading to the job in one and felt the steering go wonky, he pulls over and finds the steering gear box IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. He (stupidly) tightens it with a crescent wrench and gets it back home. So far no more problems from that truck yet.
Okay, On to the Next Truck... Going down the road it completely shuts off just out of the blue. We have yet to hear back from Bruckners about this one. I feel that I should also mention on every Truck by 50k miles the flex pipe bend in the exhaust where it exits the dpf to the stack had completely separated allowing hot gases to blow all around those sensitive DPF wires.
Oh and every single one of them leaks air around the Door, its like riding in a old wooden shack going down the highway. Furthermore unless you are a midget you have to have the seat on the floor just to see out of the Mirrors, I'm 6 foot 4 and even sitting on the floor i have to bend down to get a full view.

What has happened to Mack? I can still remember how tough the old DMs used to be. These new Macks are comfortable but they seem to be complete garbage.

They had a new Mack mixer at cemex about 4 years ago with a manual.

Mack gave it to them to try.

It was, no bs, pea green. Even the drum.

It's one of the ugliest trucks you've ever seen.

I begged the plant manager to let me come to work dressed as the Joker and use it.

    No go.

I wish we Still had manuals, No one wanted to drive them.. We actually had a guy finish his 2 week training to find out he was going to be in a manual for a few weeks until a automatic opened up he quit and walked out on the spot.
Boss loved me becuase I was the only one who would drive them
t-310 is a great transmission especially in mud and when backing up to a pump. Plus nothing better than watching peoples faces when you start grabbing gears in reverse.

My short stint a Mack daycab back in 2007 was all I needed to know that these trucks aren’t for me. I thought it was an old worn out POS 1990 model. It was a 2005. That thing was an archaic dinosaur. Life’s too short to spend any time in a Mack. Even the modernized OTR models seems dated and clunky.

Well, why do you guys buy that crap in the 1st place? Got to be some old Superliners around you can rebuild them forever.:dontknow: ok, the Camelback is a bit much, but you could drop these off a cliff, and be on the job the next day,

Myself I didn’t really like the Superliner, but the first California R Model I find with a V8 is coming home with me.

R "Westerns" were ok, my point is, so many older trucks with 1 wire going to the pump, why would anybody put up with a newer truck? 1st place I worked, they had a F model with a V8, did ok, sounded nice. I mean, by the sound of everybody bashing new trucks, you have to work on them anyway, if you can, that is.

which model? it’s my experience that the anthems of your description are junk. day cab, mp7, auto. ill take a 900k pinnacle over a new anthem 10/10.

Mack hasn't produced a decent truck since Volvo got involved . They were never good looking trucks or comfortable. But they were tuff and dependable. The last Mack I drove was a brand new 2007. It was a shop queen that spent more time in the shop than on the road.
