Heartland is great. Every one of their drivers I met out on the road has been friendly and cordial.

Plus they seem happy. As if they are content and making good money.

You interpreted it exactly right. The company you take so much pride in sold you out. That is why I will never work drive for a large trucking outfit again. In the end, you are just a number and a pawn.

Don't get your pom poms all droopy. You say you've only been driving for 4 years, the industry hasn't even begun to chew you up and spit you out yet.

And no, 70 is not a fast truck. Compared to Swift, Heartland Express (your company now), or any of the megas maybe it is in your eyes.

They will all be 65 soon enough, across the entire industry, so none of that really matters.

Frankly I don't show any loyalty to any company... I only show loyalty to myself because a company Is it going to care about you the individual They only care about their bottom line... These companies with turnover North of a 100% keep screaming driver shortage when there is not one what it is is their business practices are so garbage like they treat everybody that works for them like a piece of garbage therefore many tell them where to fly a kite at and leave..

Its amazing how when alot of guys become O/O they think they are suddenly Gods gift to trucking and look down on company drivers lo . Just cuz you "own" your own truck doesnt make you 1 #### bit better than a company driver. Guess what you are just a truck driver just like myself and every other company driver.

Pom poms? Your right i shouldnt have liked my job that paid me almost $84,000 ,last yr, while getting home every weekend for usually at least 48hrs, and didnt pay 1 penny towards fuel, breakdowns, tires, etc like you. But hey stay up on that high horse but just remember you are nothing more than a truck driver like me and everyone else.

Based on that I interpret that they were losing money and needed the cash infusion to keep afloat what they had.

My last year in a tractor trailer I made 108k company guy and home every night....soooooo........don't try to throw your weight around because you didn't pay for a flat and a O/O did....your job sucks compared to mine now doesn't it? I wasn't trying to go there but you need to calm the #### down dude....4 years? You don't even know up from down yet in this line of work lol. 84k to live in a truck....no thanks. I'm out twice a week and my company pays for a hotel. See dude it doesn't matter, there is always someone out there that has better than you no matter how good you have it so it's just whatever works for you. Have you ever worked for any other companies? Do you have anything to compare it to? I'm just curious because I have always heard good things about Millis and it sounds like all those good things might be going away. What is your exit plan? You gonna continue to live in a truck for a lot less than a lot of guys make that are home every night? (Or day in my case because I work nights). 4 years and you got it all figured out lol

I could be home every night too but i have no desire to work 14hra every single day with an hr commute each way. Im really not sure why you got your whitey tighties in a bunch. Did i quote you? Did I mention you? I was referring to these arrogant ### O/O if thats you then i guess I was talking to you?

I havent "thrown my weight" around at all. I told what I made last yr and the benefits that came from it but every time a company driver talks good bout a company they are "shaking their pom poms" its like it just drives some of these O/O nuts to know there are happy company drivers lol.

And oh yes the proverbial "you've only been doing this 4 yrs compared to my 50 fn yrs out here on these here highways "

Guess what 4yrs, 15yrs 40yrs. You are still a truck driver just like myself and remember 1 thing.....

Just because you've been doing something longer than someone, it doesnt mean you are better than them at it. Experience is great but there are guys been doing this for 5yrs that can drive, back, and just overall be a better truck drive .

It’s different strokes for different folks. My trainer from four five years ago and I have remained buddies and keep in contact. He’s had a few different injuries the last few years shoulder, bicep tear, elbow.

The OTR company he’s been with the last ten years offered him an orientation position making $65-$70 a year plus bonuses. Monday through Friday home every night. The only thing is he’d have to move the wife from North Carolina to Alabama. He turned it down rehabbed and now he’s back OTR.

I scratched my head but he’s been doing OTR 20 plus years that’s what he does and he likes it.

Not everyone thinks about getting out of the cab of the truck constantly .

I agree that's why I said everyone has different needs. There is no need for dude to be all butthurt because someone said his pay isn't the most and his truck isn't the fastest.
