New batteries 6 months ago. Lack of use doesn’t do them any favors.

 

I’m not a praying type but I’ll throw one out for situations like this.

I know it’s no comfort but, at least there is time to get affairs in order and everyone to say what needs to be said.

At 87 he got his money’s worth for sure.

 

657 miles in less than 12 hours, 11h25m on duty time, 33 minutes drive time left.

If it weren't for those pesky HOS rules, I would be home tonight.

Then again, I'm pretty tired and it likely wouldn't be safe to go that far, so it's better to call it quits and get started earlier tomorrow.

Oh well, feed the beast.


Apparently they stopped selling beer in the restaurant, so I was a little unhappy, but oh well, I'll have some tomorrow at home.

 

I hate 'em all lol. If GM doesn't fire their design team soon I'll probably be stuck buying Ford because every other brand's pickups these days look like crap too lol.

Boss lady is in the process of negotiating with Mack on brand new equipment, and she's looking at getting me something, in her words "that I'll like" since she "wouldn't have a problem with buying a truck with a manual if it's for someone who she knows is going to stick around".

After my trip up to Thompson, MB (we went together, and I've been the only one to keep up with her down the MB-280 to the dam site), my third with the company, she praised me quite heavily and wants to do everything she can to hold onto me (a whole lot more than New Hope ever did for me).

Last Monday she went and looked at a 2016 Mack CHU613 with a 505 hp MP8 and 18-speed Eaton. Set up for flat deck and given the specs, Super-B's (even though we are a tandem only company). Said the only reason she didn't buy it then and there was they wanted too much for it (wasn't at the Mack dealer).

 

Cab's been off the frame for 3 years. Rear part of the cab frame is rotten and needs replacement.

 

Decided to do a project a day for the three day weekend.

Today I pressure washed my front porch and the porch furniture. Decided I'd like to be able to sit out there in the evenings and drink whatever suits my fancy without worrying I was about to be carried away by Shelob. Also tackled some landscaping that needed attention.

Tomorrow is the back yard and back porch.

Monday... ugh.. the garage.....
