He's not an ex driver, he's a current driver. Apparently he's working the oil fields now last I heard.
Of all the YouTube truck drivers, he is the one that bothers me the most. He's just Tony Robbins holding a steering wheel. Every job he's ever had is the greatest job in the history of jobs, he has a psychotic level of positivity, and even though he's only had 3 years experience, he knows the path to success! He may not know everything about trucking, but he knows what it takes to succeed in life!
I feel for anyone who has ever taken his advice. He's just trying to be a guru, and those people should generally be avoided like the plague.Long FLD, FlaSwampRat, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Not on you guys level. Ive been a heavy equipment operator my whole life and decided to buy a truck and do local hauling. ITs an old pete. I will need some tips from time to time on working on truck. Gonna do clutch probably next week. I enjoy truck driving as long as its old truck and local. Been doing it 2 years now and i like it alot. IF i didnt have dogs i would probably leave this town and not look backLepton1 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

But you do drive. Now, I dont know if you went to school or learned on the job, but after you got your CDL, was there anyone out there that helped you with your job when you needed help? Some more experienced driver that took time out to show you the ropes, saw that you were struggling in a certain area...etc?Lepton1 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

I see what you're getting at, and this is exactly how it should be. We experienced drivers need to take the new guys under our wings and show them the ropes... for free. Because it benefits everyone if the new generation knows what they're doing.FlaSwampRat and Lepton1 Thank this.

If you are a driver, you received help. The driver that helped you, did not charge you. You repay his kindness by FREELY helping the next driver. Now, if you are an Instructor, that’s different. An instructor is not a driver.FlaSwampRat, Lepton1, Collie and 1 other person Thank this.

The best advice I ever received was from an older driver (RIP) at Yellow in probably 2007.
In the snow, don't worry about your speed. Worry about where the tachometer is. Find the low torque point in the engine's tach reading (generally higher RPMs) and hold it there. You'll rarely break traction if you do that.
Great advice, Jeff. I hope you're riding your Harley wherever you are, wherever we go.
So this is a time-honored tradition, the older guys teaching the newer guys techniques. For this guy to come in with his minimal experience and charge money for that? My God.FlaSwampRat, MACK E-6, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
According to ttr I need to tell my boss to get rid of my 379 and get me a freightliner so people don’t think I have a little dong? Lol
Freightliner dump trucks ride horrible, I’m lucky we have star cars, Petes and kw.
They are just better trucks, has nothing to do with ego.Long FLD, FlaSwampRat, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this.
