Absolute myth. I've never done a single OTR shift in my life. As for rural, i was hired on to a LTL terminal with 5 drivers in a town with less than 1,500 people as my first driving job.

Am I the only one that runs P&D with a 53 foot trailer? We run some pretty tight areas and I've gotten to the point of just sliding my tandems forward to the front. My coworkers are poking fun at me for "riding training wheels". I can't be the only one that does this.
misterG Thanks this. -
Wow wish I could get that lucky.
Live near ATL and can't get any opportunities without some experience I'm guessing. Not even foodservice. Guess you gotta just keep applying 5 or 6 times to each company and hope they bite. -
Truth be told I’m surprised they even opened a terminal there. Big sky country is a huge dead zone for us.
-
Is that even legal?

Watch that tailswing. I’m terrified of that.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
Tail swing put 11k worth of damage to one of our city tractors.... sitting at our own dock...Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

Another one bites the dust. Had to let a driver go today...
@Mike2633 you still bent on staying put?Mike2633 and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
We had one drop dead from what I’d imagine was a heart attack at a delivery yesterday.
I pretty much predicted that run would kill him, and it sure enough did.

Had one fall over in our yard almost died a few years ago. Hes on permanent disability with 24 percent heart capacity... course he was 4 bills running a pedel route...
