That's what I'm thinking. If things start to go downhill the guys that have done well there will have a lot of doors opened for them and be able to just go jump on with some higher paying jobs with no problem.

    Sirscrapntruckalot and bzinger Thank this.

I guarantee they will not change the name on the trucks for a few years yet.
I’m sure Miller has “Millis” in their contract, and that name will stay until all said contracts have expired or are reworked.

    FlaSwampRat and bzinger Thank this.

Usually contracts like that are assumable in the event of a transfer of ownership. It’s usually buried in the mice type that no one read when inking the deal. Right now the company is probably Heartland Express DBA Willis Transport.

The DBA assumes they will still be running under the Millis name.
My old company acquired a competitor, had to keep their name in truck for next 18 months or so

I have not been home in a couple weeks and have not personally read the letter regarding this. Had my better half read it to me and something may have been lost in translation.

That's right. What's the one I'm thinking of? DHL bought someone for some network building and now I can't remember who....kind of the point of my post lol.

    Actually, they were mostly organic.
They are absolutely top dog in Europe. And they decided to come to the US. Do you remember the ads of the UPS driver watching a train load of DHL cars go by? That was them.
They kinda found out the hard way that the US was an entirely different dog. Mostly because they didn't have the governmental support that they had in Europe.
