Update! Found the fuel pump (wow, what a PITA location!)

It's the updated pump! At least, according to the pictures I found on Rawze.com. Lucky for me, the old pump and the new pump are very distinctly different.

Still have to keep an eye on it, of course. From what I'm reading, the updated pump isn't much better than the old style. But at least the rebuild kits are still widely available,

I wouldn't lay awake worry about all this stuff ....if it was gonna blow up it would have done it by now lol.
Other than the carbon packing issue and the impending overhaul its given me very few problems and always gotten outstanding fuel mileage....with
No idling and a light foot .
Did have some aftertreatment issues with it shortly after the overhaul but that was due to people that didnt know what they were doing and hasn't been an issue since .
And ohhhh check the crank case breather filter to see if it has the updated version on it ...the old ones plug up .

On my list for tomorrow. I'd do it now, but it's dark out and I might get eaten by a bear.

Years ago I dated a gal from strattenville .
She lived out in the woods and yeah the bears were an issue there too.

Just a joke. We only have one bear in this area. He migrates between Tamarack Lake (basically in my back yard, less than a mile from the house as the crow flies) and somewhere down by Sandy Lake, PA. A Black Bear, if memory serves. Haven't seen the grumpy old bugger in a couple of years.

How much are the payments and how much did you have to put down? If it's not already paid off . Never been a owner but curious

Some easy sensors to change (that go bad eventually due to soot ) that measure and help control the emissions system are the:

    imap sensor (intake manifold sensor)
    Differential pressure sensor (intake side)
    Exhaust back pressure sensor.

and to clean the mixing pipes with carb n choke cleaner. The mixing pipes between the intake and venturi pipe. (On rawze’s YouTube under egr tuneup)
