I studying dmv genie everyday for a month till I got 100% in gen, combo, and air brakes consistently. Finally got time to take the test. Not a single question from there was on it. So I studied the book, which helped me learn about the truck, but again, the questions were number specific stuff or random #### they didn’t ask me on any practice tests. Is it rigged?

no, it is not rigged. any study guide can be memorized.

all states randomly select questions on each round or tests. this way, no one can memorize it all.

many times the states word it differently, or give you and extra choice in an answer like, A, B, C, D, E.....

the practice questions from ANY website, might only be..A, B, C, D......get it.??

the best you can do is study, and keep trying all the sample tests from maybe this site as well...

FREE CDL Test Practice 2018 - All Endorsements

also, when you actually go to the DMV for the real testing..??

make sure your cell phone is OFF, even if set to vibrate, you can be considered as cheating, and kicked out, for an instant failure!

also, usually when you read the question SLOWLY, and read the answers?

the FIRST answer you choose is the correct one..!

NEVER add or subtract the wording in any question or answer, to "make it sound right to you"..!!

Some questions and answers will stick in your mind.

"The parking brake must be able to hold a vehicle on any grade"

Real world on ice? at a 14%er with a stiff gale blowing?

    HA....

There were at least 1 or 2 that I swear wouldn’t be true in real life. Because I remember after putting in my answer and seeing it come up wrong I just stared at the screen with my jaw dropped watching my number of incorrect answers increase

There is parroting answers the state wants and then there is the real world.

Considering how the push button new trucks are almost sentinent They might as well toss those questions. If there is a problem it will be in a form of a computer code.

Many Florida trainees that memorized the test on here, passed.

although sometimes sounding crazy, believe it or not, the state wants to hear the answer they want, not what you want to give or debate or argue about.

it is not set up for anyone to fail, but to use common sense, and choose the answers they want to hear.

that's why one must read each question SLOWLY, and the first answer you choose, is generally the correct one.

once you "second guess" your answer...BAM...you're wrong..>!!!!!!

I used https://www.truckercountry.com/cdl-practice-tests/ for my permit test last week in PA. Many of the questions were word for word. There were around 2 on each test I did not recognize from the website. I also passed tankers and doubles/triples.

I would redo an entire practice test if I missed one until I got 100% before moving to the next. Then I would repeat them a few times a day. I did the same for the exam mode on the site I listed. I also did the practice exams while waiting at the dmv.

I also read the cdl manual cover to cover then went to each knowledge test and highlighted and numbered the answers in the previous pages.

One tip is to make sure any site you use for practice tests has a reference to the actual page or section in your state's cdl manual under each answer. I cross reference a few randomly to check accuracy.

Most dmvs have gone paperless and I had to scrounge a physical copy at my state rep's office.

I used CDL Genie. I read the manual, too, and I kept taking the tests until I got a 100% every time that I took them. You said all the questions are different. Have you chosen the correct state? Are you quizzing yourself on General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combination Vehicles only? I knew that I was ready in a week, when I got 100% on all the test, well except 1 and got 98% on that one.

Reading the book will give you the knowledge that you need to answer the questions, but something like CDL Genie will give you the wording of the test questions, enabling you to watch for those that are wordy a bit tricky.
