    That's true. I never used speed; only used ephedrine pills, which were, and still are, legal.
    Most "stay awake" pills could be purchased at truck stops. Usually had a display to choose from. Jusst tell the cashier what you want and pay for them. I'd by bottles of 250 or 500 pills at truck stops that sold that many. Most just had small bottles with 25 or 50 pills.
    Many drivers used a pill known as "Black Beauties", which was a meth pill.
    Those would keep a driver awake for days. I never tried them and didn't need them. The ephedrine worked for me.

    There were drugs back in the day, I am not sure there were anymore in use back then than there is now though.

    Been there done that. I'm super add so I can eat and go to sleep on them lol. Exactly the opposite for me.
