Annoying a.f. One of those things developed by people that’s never actually been on the road. Safety this and Safety that. Make sure you get plenty of sleep to avoid fatigued driving. But Heyyyyyy we’re going to put this alarm clock that goes off at very random times any time your co-driver is cut off. Be safe out there and remember to get plenty of sleep.

As you can see Ya just can’t help hitting a random piece of aluminum foil going down the road that just so happens to wrap itself around such an amazing piece of technology, blocking it. ‍♂️‍♂️ 65787DE2-CBC1-4EF1-A131-21E70DFFD52B.jpeg

Reminds me of the guy where I used to work.
Trucks had a satellite tracking device that looked like a bulb about the size of a volley ball. One driver put a metal bucket over it after he left the terminal on each run. The company couldn't figure out why they couldn't track him. He was going off route to visit a girlfriend. He was caught when he forgot to remove the bucket before returning to the terminal one time. He was fired. He didn't care; he found a better job.
Good idea though, except he was caught.

Is that like the early days of having a Qualcomm (or equivalent) in the truck, where you could just unplug the #### thing if you wanted the company off your ### for a hot minute? I remember thinking that was funny as #### when my uncle demonstrated for me...

I used to do that a lot. Inside the right side box is where the antenna plug in was.

If they dont like how i drive they can find someone else. Plenty of seats out there.

Friday i hauled a load for my bosses cousin.. 4th time he called me i just said stop buggin me. The load is covered and i dont need a manager.

He can haul his own if he dont like that.

The first time they mounted a cell phone in my truck, I had a couple guys in the office with nothing better to do than call me all the time...
    "where are you?"
    "in my truck"
    "WHERE in your truck?"
    "right behind the steering wheel"

    and so on...

    #### companies that babysit you. Yeah I had to start somewhere but then I moved on, best decision ive ever made. If you feel harassed by your company-move on. Chances are you will find better company to work for.

not even what this post was about but I know what you’re saying. The contractor I run for seriously is one of the few good ones. Not micromanaging, babysitting and my money is on time every time. Personally if I was stupid enough to start buying trucks again and even more dumb to start hiring drivers? Yep there’s going to be trackers on those trucks because #1 you can’t trust anyone to take of equipment that they’re not paying for themselves. Drivers absolutely trash trucks and 80% of the time the drivers the loudest about being babysat? Those are the ones you gotta watch the closest. Truth be told there’s a lot of so called “grown-ups” still acting like teenagers.

I ran a few trucks for several years (very few) A couple of times a year I would get the itch to put on another truck. All I had to cure it was stand around and watch any fuel island for 10 minutes or less, and I always came to the conclusion I had all the trucks I needed. lol
